Kerja Bugar has seen a reduction in fatigue-related incidents across our operations in Indonesia
Being fit for duty is mandatory at all Thiess sites.
Factors such as physical and mental health, fatigue management and the use of drugs and alcohol impact our ability to perform at work. To reduce the number of ‘Fit For Work’ incidents, Thiess in Indonesia introduced Kerja Bugar (Fit For Work), a program which includes assessing employees at the start of the shift to ensure their ability to work safely is not compromised by lack of sleep, medication or illness.
Education and awareness were vital in the rollout of this program, with Kerja Bugar education sessions conducted with operation managers, project managers, superintendents, operators, drivers and other personnel. Family days and site tours were also held to educate families about the importance of being fit for work and ways they could contribute at home.
Kerja Bugar has seen a reduction in fatigue-related incidents across our operations in Indonesia. To further reduce incidents, we use ‘Fit For Work’ onsite promotional material, refresher training, spot fatigue checks and audits.
