Flooding has had a heartbreaking impact on communities in Queensland and NSW.
We are supporting team members who have been affected by the flood waters, and those who are part of the volunteer response, so they can focus on their wellbeing and family priorities. Our projects in impacted areas moved quickly to roll up their sleeves and they are helping their communities with the clean up to make areas safe.
With a long recovery ahead, we are contributing to the relief effort with a matched-giving program to support communities, and a donation to the Business Council of Australia to help small businesses recover – a total of up to $550,000.
Dollar for dollar matched giving program
Our matched-giving program is supporting Red Cross, Lifeline Queensland and Lifeline Direct (NSW) who are providing highly valued services in the hardest hit areas.
Team members’ donations, with a target of $100,000 for each charity, will be matched dollar-for-dollar by CIMIC Group. Donations via our Go Fund Me pages are now open and close on 31 March 2022.
Donate to Red Cross here. Red Cross focuses on evacuation and relief centres, outreach services, and helping communities to recover and build resilience.
Donate to Lifeline Queensland here or Lifeline Direct here. Lifeline provides much needed emotional and crisis support via their respected phone and online services and places Lifeline Community Recovery Teams on the ground in badly-damaged locations.
Helping small business
Our Group is donating $250,000 to the Business Council of Australia’s BizRebuild initiative.
BizRebuild is on the ground in affected areas, helping small businesses with replacement tools, office equipment and laptops, and business recovery planning and support. Getting local businesses back to work will help return jobs and services to the community.
