Broad delivers world-class fit-out
Broad is pleased to announce it has received official Practical Completion for two projects carried out simultaneously to fit-out the David Malcolm Justice Centre.
The Centre is located at 28 Barrack Street in Perth’s CBD where Broad fitted-out approximately 29,000sqm of office space to accommodate members of State Government.
The projects involved the fit-out of Levels 2 to 16 of the new civil courts for the Supreme Courts of Western Australia and Levels 19 to 31 for the Department of the Attorney General (DotAG) and the Department of Treasury (Treasury).
Following contract award in June 2015, works began on the Supreme Courts fit-out project in July 2015.
More than 315,000 work hours were performed throughout the duration of the two projects – with no LTIs recorded at either project. A fantastic effort by everyone on site.
A point of difference was our integrated logistics plan, which addressed limited lift availability and eliminated subcontractor cost of labour distributing materials. This plan proved a pivotal element to Broad’s award of further fit-out works of the 33-storey office tower (levels 19 to 31), enabling a ‘whole tower’ approach to be undertaken for both projects.
Following a successful tender works began on the office fit-out for DotAG and Treasury in October 2015.
Both projects comprised all joinery and cabinetwork, electrical services, mechanical services, hydraulic services, installation of audio visual equipment, installation of ceilings and flooring materials, coordination of all visual graphical elements of the fit-out, and delivery of UPS rooms on all levels.
