Broad Construction, delivering the Ferny Grove Central project, recently welcomed Occupational Health and Safety students from The University of Queensland to site for a firsthand look at real-world construction site safety practices.
Upon arrival, students and teachers were given a comprehensive project overview and visitor safety induction.
The group of 17 then participated in a site tour which gave guests a first-hand look at the variety of tasks that take place on a construction site each day. Following the tour, students learnt about Broad Construction's comprehensive protocols and procedures for identifying and mitigating risks.
Broad Construction is committed to playing a role building the capability and capacity of budding construction professionals. This sentiment was emphasised by Broad Construction’s General Manager Cyril Cahill:
“Safety is our top priority, and we're thrilled to offer hands-on experiences like this tour at Ferny Grove Central that reinforce the critical importance of risk and safety protocols for future construction professionals," Cyril said.
The transit-oriented Ferny Grove Central project involves redeveloping the existing Ferny Grove train station commuter car park into a residential, commercial and retail hub, while also providing additional parking spaces for commuter vehicles.
