CPB Contractors has received recognition from the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) for its sustainable delivery of the Western Sydney International Airport Bulk Earthworks project. The project has been awarded the highest possible rating of 'Leading' with a final score of 90.95.
Receipt of this rating praises CPB Contractors’ commitment to harmonious construction, with particular recognition given to its water, waste and heritage achievements. These achievements included:
- Using 98% recycled water on the project
- Diverting more than 11,000 tonnes of material from landfill and, as a result, achieving a 96% diversion rate
- Achieving a 15.6% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions
The Western Sydney Airport Bulk Earthworks project, delivered by CPB Contractors in a joint venture, laid the foundation for the ongoing construction and development of the new Western Sydney International Airport. The scope of work included the overall topographical and drainage design of the airport precinct, detailed design and construction of earthworks and associated drainage.
