Over 200 Western Sydney locals recently joined the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport Station Boxes and Tunnelling delivery team for an immersive Community Day.
During guided site tours, attendees had the opportunity to explore the Aerotropolis Station site and witness the progress first-hand. The focus of the tour was to showcase the project’s progress in excavating the site where two tunnel boring machines will break through to connect the future Airport Business Park Station to the new Western Sydney International Airport and the new city of Bradfield.
With positive feedback from adults and children alike, guests also enjoyed a bush tucker plant giveaway and had the chance to engage with members of the CPB Contractors team, who shared information about the tunnelling project.
CPB Contractors is delivering the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport, Station Boxes and Tunnelling Works for the NSW Government in a joint venture.
The project involves the design and construction of 9.8 kilometres of twin tunnels and excavations for stations at St Marys, Orchard Hills, Airport Terminal Station, Aerotropolis Station and service facilities at Bringelly and Claremont Meadows.
