CPB Contractors and UGL's joint venture delivery of Powerlink’s CopperString 2032 project continues to drive forward, with construction for the first and largest workforce accommodation and facilities site in Hughenden now underway.
Once operational, the Hughenden site will have the capacity to house up to 450 people, providing a range of amenities, including dedicated gym and recreation spaces, as well as dining, servery, kitchen, and food store facilities. Additional accommodation sites will also be developed at Richmond, Julia Creek, Cloncurry, Pentland and Charters Towers to provide housing for the teams delivering the new 840km high-voltage transmission lines.
The project delivery team continues to prioritise engagement with local councils and stakeholders throughout the communities the project operates within. Recently, representatives from CPB Contractors attended the Hughenden Show and the Green Energy Forum. In the coming weeks, the project team will host Powerlink’s Supplier Capability Development Program at the CopperString 2032 Experience Centre in Townsville.
CPB Contractors is delivering the CopperString 2032 project in a joint venture with fellow CIMIC Group Company UGL. Works on the project involve the delivery of 840km of new high-voltage transmission line in North and North West Queensland.
