Leading contractor CPB Contractors has signed the Veteran Employment Commitment (VEC) and is now officially recognised as a ‘Supporter of Veterans’ Employment’ as part of the Australian Government’s Veteran Employment Program.
By signing the VEC, CPB Contractors publicly commits to creating greater employment opportunities and assistance for veterans.
CPB Contractors General Manager – Defence Brendan Sowry emphasises the importance of this commitment.
“We have a long track record of providing development and employment opportunities to veterans, and CPB Contractors is proud to be formally recognised as a supporter,” shares Brendan.
“Veterans bring valuable skills and a commendable work ethic to the table, and it’s a privilege to be included as a supporter, particularly for Veterans transitioning to construction.”
CPB Contractors Group Manager, Diversity, Indigenous and Social Inclusion Sharon Gray highlights that this public commitment also reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to support and create opportunities for Veterans.
“Whether we’re hiring, supporting existing employees or engaging with veteran-owned companies across our supply chain, our Veteran Strategy and Action Plan ensures we’re active in welcoming employees from different backgrounds, with different perspectives and experiences, while also promoting inclusivity in a consistent and measured way,” adds Sharon.
CPB Contractors has a long-standing history of delivering effective and innovative defence projects that enhance the capabilities of bases and operations across the Navy, Army and Air Force. Through the company’s Veteran Strategy and Action Plan, CPB Contractors will continue to embed strategies that enhance recruitment, development, communication, and procurement from veteran-owned businesses in the construction industry.
