Perth’s METRONET Thornlie-Cockburn Link (TCL) has reached a significant milestone, with the first test train running earlier this week.
The trip marks the start of extensive testing and commissioning along the 17.5-kilometre alignment to ensure all infrastructure and systems operate effectively and trains run safely and efficiently.
CPB Contractors, as part of the NEWest Alliance, is delivering the TCL project with works here, including two new stations, Nicholson Road and Ranford Rd, along with upgrades to the existing Thornlie and Cockburn Central stations.

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti emphasised the significance of this milestone, stating, Perth’s first east-west line connection will be a game-changer for thousands of people living in our south-eastern suburbs who have never had access to our world-class train network.
