We are excited to share that our project, the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS) Phase 2 in Singapore, is making great progress and has hit some major milestones.
Since kicking off in 2017, this key infrastructure project aims to enhance Singapore’s water management system by transporting used water to the Tuas Water Reclamation Plant through gravity-fed deep tunnels.
The project features:
- a 7.9km underground tunnel with Corrosion Protection Lining (CPL) to withstand the sewer environment
- gate shafts for seamless tunnel maintenance
- hydraulic structures inclusive of a vortex chamber and drop shafts
- comprehensive air flow management facilities.
Recent achievements include:
- on-time handover of air flow management facilities in the first half of 2023
- completion of tunnel boring with three Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) and Corrosion Protection Lining (CPL) installation by November 2023.
Working in progress:
- We are forging ahead with the construction of gate shafts and hydraulic structures, commenced in February 2023.
- Three out of six towering gate shafts are ready to be equipped with roller gate guides.
- Work on the six hydraulic structures, which will connect to five existing and one planned link sewer tunnels, is ongoing.
- We are on track to complete the substantial underground Reinforced Concrete (RC) works.
Each gate shaft, equivalent in height to a 16 – 18 story building, is being constructed using a 20MT climbing formwork system, supported by thoroughly tested octagonal lifting frames.
Our commitment to safety and quality has been consistently recognised with awards such as the Gold Award from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA), SHARP Awards and accolades from our client, PUB.
Join us on our journey as we contribute to a more efficient and sustainable water management system in Singapore!
