The UAJV team, a joint venture between UGL and Altrad Services APAC, has a long history of supporting the local football team, the Karratha Kats, in Karratha, WA.
UGL’s Kevin Miller, David Kenney, and Ilija Grgic traveled to Karratha to attend a match between the Karratha Kats and the Wickham Wolves. The Kats emerged victorious, showcasing their skill and determination on the field. The UGL team was joined by several colleagues from the site, all coming together to support the Kats.
Ilija, also a former AFL professional who played for the Western Bulldogs, West Coast Eagles, and Essendon, played a special role in the event. He carried out the coin toss and presented the Best on Ground award, adding a touch of AFL prestige to the local match.
In a display of unity and support for reconciliation, the UGL team wore shirts made for the 'Walk for Reconciliation’, a cultural walk organised for National Reconciliation Week. The shirts incorporated the Kats' design and highlighted UAJV's dedication to supporting local sports and cultural awareness within the community.
Through their ongoing support for the Karratha Kats, UAJV continues to strengthen community ties and foster a spirit of teamwork and inclusivity in Karratha.
