For nine months, Stacey Stevenson, UGL Project Lead, has been deeply involved with the local community of Biloela through the Callide Cooling Tower Rebuild Project. Driven by a strong desire to give back, Stacey and her UGL Callide project team organised an onsite fundraiser to benefit the local community. Reaching out to suppliers and clients, the team gathered an impressive array of donated goods including a BBQ, signed sporting memorabilia, gift cards, and backpacks filled with great merchandise.
The fundraising initiative exceeded expectations, raising over $17,000. The team proudly presented $13,000 to the Banana Shire Support Centre, a local emergency accommodation support centre, with the remainder allocated to other mental health and community initiatives.
"We wanted to give back to Biloela. It has been a wonderful experience working on the Callide project and connecting with the local community," said Stacey Stevenson.
At UGL, we understand the importance of engaging with our communities as they play a crucial role in fostering a sense of belonging, providing a support system during times of need, and promoting shared goals and values.
