In sustainable energy infrastructure, UGL has reached a pivotal milestone in the construction of Neoen Australia’s Collie Battery Stage 1 in Western Australia, with the completion of commissioning and readiness for energisation. This milestone showcases UGL's expertise and commitment to delivering energy solutions.
The project encompasses the installation of 219MW / 877 MWh battery of Tesla Energy Megapacks, coupled with the establishment of a new 33/330kV High Voltage (HV) Substation. These critical components will integrate seamlessly into the Schotts Terminal Substation, enhancing the region's power distribution network.
“UGL Project Manager Diego Cortes Ferrer said: “This milestone was a great effort from the UGL Construction and Commissioning teams, especially considering the heavy rains during some construction weeks. The team worked collaboratively to achieve a successful outcome.”
Work at Collie Battery Stage 1 commenced in April 2023 and is expected to finish later this year.
