The Cross River Rail project in Brisbane has reached a key milestone, with the UGL testing and commissioning team at Roma Street successfully completing Level 2 commissioning of the platform screen doors.
This rigorous testing phase involved achieving 2,000 fault-free cycles of the Automatic Screen Doors (ASDs) opening and closing on platform 2.
This phase consists of nine sequential tests, each carefully executed and recorded. Upon successful completion, assurance certificates are finalised.
Later in the process, the Independent Certifier and other key stakeholders are invited to witness the testing, ensuring all fine tuning is completed and the system functions flawlessly.
Additionally, the train interface was tested using a jig over the trackside antenna, simulating real world conditions. This process verified the seamless exchange of information between the platform screen doors system and the train simulator, confirming the correct operation of door opening and closing sequences.
UGL, in partnership with fellow CIMIC Group companies Pacific Partnerships and CPB Contractors, is delivering the Tunnel, Stations, and Development (TSD) Package for Cross River Rail. UGL will also provide facilities management services once operations commence.
As part of CBGU JV with CPB Contractors, BAM, and Ghella - we are working to drive forward one of Brisbane’s most significant infrastructure projects, enhancing transportation and interconnection for the city.
