150 St Georges Terrace
Broad brought a fresh new look to 150 St Georges Terrace, Perth. Works included the expansion of the commercial office area and the construction of a bar/bistro in a combined three stage refurbishment.
Contracted by Phoenix Properties International, Broad started on the site in the heart of the CBD in late November 2009, and completed the project in February 2011.
Initially contracted for Stage 2A, the extension of the ground and lower ground floors, Broad was also awarded the remaining stages, 2B and 2C.
The works over four levels have created a new entrance area for the Commonwealth Bank and adjacent lift lobby. The existing escalators to the lower ground floor were removed and a new steel structure with zinc cladding installed, along with seven oval feature window openings. The north and south facades feature a steel structure with glazing.
Modifications were made to the basement car park, an extension of office and plant areas in the lower ground level was administered, as well as the installation of reflection pools in the lower ground levels. The ground level entrance and façade upgrades had additional work done to the mechanical services on the mezzanine level. Additionally, Broad undertook the refurbishment of the building’s four existing lifts, as well as adding an easy accessible lift.
During Stage 2B Broad constructed a bar/bistro on the western side of 150 St Georges Terrace underneath the Central Park covered area. Stage 2C involved the creation of a new restaurant to the northern elevation of 150 St Georges Terrace, overlooking the public space gardens to the rear of Central Park.
