Brisbane City Council awarded Broad Construction the contract to construct a brand-new aquatic centre located in Bracken Ridge 20km Northwest of Brisbane’s CBD.
Open public tenders for the project were called in late 2014. Through several value management sessions, and drawing on previous experience, including the successful delivery of Colmslie Reserve Aquatic Centre, the Council awarded Broad Construction the works in early February 2015.
The project included a 25m six lane heated outdoor pool with accessible ramp, a twenty-five-metre heated indoor pool with accessible ramp and changerooms and toilet facilities.
Before works commenced on the aquatic centre, modifications were required to an existing animal shelter. Works to reconfigure the animal shelter were followed by construction of the facility.
