Candaba 3rd Viaduct
Leighton Asia has been selected to design and construct the third bridge of the Candaba Viaduct in the north of Manila, Philippines.
This P7.89-billion structure, targeted for completion by November 2024, entails the construction of a new bridge in the middle of the two existing viaducts. This will increase road capacity of the entire Candaba Viaduct once completed, from three lanes without shoulder to three lanes with inner and outer shoulders in each direction.
Green and sustainable engineering practices will be used when building Candaba 3rd Viaduct and the country’s latest bridge design requirements will be compliant.
The works involve the development of the detailed engineering design and the construction of the Candaba 3rd Viaduct, with provision of future stitching to the replacement of the existing viaduct, that will eventually create a continuous two bound elevated roadway. This shall take off from the accepted Preliminary Engineering Design.
