Lake Vermont CHPP Expansion

A Thiess Sedgman Joint Venture delivered the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant expansion at Lake Vermont Coal Mine in Central Queensland, increasing production from 800tph to 1600tph.

Thiess Sedgman designed and constructed the original Lake Vermont CHPP, which was commissioned in March 2009. The project team completed the project on time and met all client requirements despite encountering wet weather delays.

The upgraded plant produces up to four million tonnes of additional product coal per annum and has generated up to 200 new jobs.
